Eng. Amr Sheira, Founder and Ex-Chief Executive Officer “CompuMe”, brings along 26 years of experience in the fields of Information Technology, Telecommunications and Retail. Eng. Sheira has experience in local and international trading, start-ups, incubators, ventures, computer and digital megastore retail chain.
Eng. Sheira took BSc. degree in Telecommunications and Electronics from Cairo University Faculty of Engineering in 1985. Since that time and till 1996 he held executive positions in different private and multinational companies.
His first private company was in 1996, where he established a company in Singapore, trading internationally in computer key components.
In 1999, established with different partners, investment Incubator Company over looking opportunities in the field of ICT.
In 2001 and till today he is holding the following positions:
- Managing Director at Polaroid MENA in UAE (2012-now), the development of consumer electronics products under the Polaroid brand and selling them in the MENA and Gulf regions.
- Managing Director at Emerio Technology Egypt (2012- now), the creation of a new brand related to smart mobile phone and distribution channel.
- Managing Director at Tecbuy (2012-2013), the creation of a new retail chain to become the ultimate shopping destination for household appliances, IT and digital electronics and services in Egypt.
- C.E.O at CompuMe Egypt (2001-2012) , the creation of the market leader for digital and computer retail chain of stores reaching 32% market share in Egypt.
- Member of the board in Egyptian E-waste Company, the first company established in Egypt for e-waste management.
- Board member in Organic & More, the first chain of supper markets selling organic.
- Vise Chairman EDCF (Egyptian Development Corridors Foundation), and NGO established to work on a master plan and vision for Egypt for the coming 30 years.
- Member in the United Nations Global Compact, a global initiative working on the role corporate social responsibility in areas such as human rights, environment, labor and anti- corruption. And go beyond these to address additional sustainability priorities.
- Member in EBA (Egyptian Business Association), heading the ICT Committee.
- Member in EJB (Egyptian Junior Business Association), in which he held headed the CSR Committee and was Chairman to its well-known project (KEY) developing public university students’ skills.
- Member in CIT (Chamber of Information Technology and Communication Industry)
- Member in Eitesal (Egyptian Information Telecommunication, Electronics and Software Alliance)
